Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure 2011 NR 89 minutes

When a talent scout gives her the green light to go on to bigger and better things in New York City, Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale) expects an easy bop to the top on Broadway. The Paranoids (Los Paranoicos) 2008 NR 101 minutes

A Somewhat Gentle Man 2010 NR 107 minutes

With revenge on his mind, a gangster (Stellan Skarsgård) who spent 12 years in prison for murder sets out to kill the man (Henrik Mestad) who put him there. But the promise of a normal life — and news that he’s on the brink of becoming a grandfather — proves a tempting distraction. Suddenly, seeking vengeance doesn’t seem nearly as important. Hans Petter Moland directs this Norwegian drama about sons and second chances.

La Soga (The Butcher’s Son) 2009 NR 100 minutes

Making his screenwriting debut, Manny Perez stars in this tough chronicle of Luisito, a young man walking the line between honesty and the corruption he sees all around him in the Dominican Republic. After a wild night of partying with friends, Terry (Donald Faison) awakens to discover that he’s one of the few remaining people on Earth. Mongolian Death Worm 2010 NR 90 minutes

In case the title doesn’t give it away, this SyFy channel original movie concerns a swarm of deadly supersized worms in Mongolia that come between a local cop (George Cheung), a visiting doctor (Victoria Pratt) and a treasure seeker (Sean Patrick Flanery) in search of Genghis Khan’s tomb. The plot thickens soon after an American oil company stirs up the monsters’ nest, encouraging their kind to be fruitful and multiply.

UFC 125: Resolution 2011 NR 100 minutes

The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas hosts this evening of UFC mixed martial arts madness that pits Gray Maynard against Frankie Edgar in a pulse-pounding bout so ferocious that both opponents won bonuses for Fight of the Night. Jiujitsu specialist Nate Diaz challenges Dong Hyun Kim in the welterweight division, while light heavyweight Brandon Vera takes on Brazilian powerhouse Thiago Silva, and Clay Guida grapples with Takanori Gomi.

UFC 126: Silva vs. Belfort 2011 NR 100 minutes

Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort headline an electric night of UFC mixed martial arts bouts in Las Vegas with their intense battle for Silva’s middleweight championship title, while Jon Jones and Ryan Bader slug it out in a fierce encounter. Another big showdown comes when Forrest Griffin faces down contender Rich Franklin to prove that he’s recovered from his shoulder injury. Also on the card is Jake Ellenberger vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha.

UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch 2011 NR 100 minutes

The Ultimate Fighting Championship ducks back Down Under for this mammoth mixed martial arts event filmed at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia, in 2011. At the top of the fight card are American welterweight contenders B.J. Penn and Jon Fitch.

The Tourist 2010 PG-13 103 minutes

Watery Venice, Italy, provides the setting as Johnny Depp, playing an American tourist seeking solace for his shattered heart, instead finds it in danger again after encountering a beautiful Interpol agent (Angelina Jolie). Little does the Yank know that the artful lady has gone to great lengths to arrange their “chance” meeting and is using him to trap a thief who happens to be her ex-lover. The film earned Golden Globe nods for Depp and Jolie.

Black Swan 2010 R 108 minutes

In director Darren Aronofsky’s psychological thriller, ambitious New York City ballet dancer Nina Sayers (Natalie Portman) lands the lead in “Swan Lake” but soon thinks her dreams of stardom are threatened by a rival ballerina (Mila Kunis). As opening night nears and the pressure to be perfect builds, Nina’s obsession descends into paranoia and delusion. Portman won an Academy Award for the film, which also nabbed an Oscar nod for Best Picture.

Megan is Missing 2011 NR 85 minutes

Employing a mix of storytelling techniques (including webcam footage, video chats and dramatized news reports), this chillingly realistic thriller charts the disappearance of two teens who vanish three weeks apart under mysterious circumstances.
