The lineup for this year’s Coachella music festival has been released, to mixed reviews. About half of the people I follow on Twitter who have mentioned it are of the mind that this lineup isn’t worth spending all that money, not to mention three days in the desert. Some were excited, but the rest were made up of those who just go every year and thought this year’s list looked decent enough.
Take a look:

Compared to say, 1999′s lineup, this year’s does look decidedly less exciting, but then again, this would be a tough act to follow:
Other headlining alumni include Paul McCartney, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Smashing Pumpkins, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and other musical gods and royalty. What do you think? Would you go this year, or would you rather see the artists you’re interested in separately?
Me? I’d go see PJ Harvey or Interpol, but frankly, if I want to listen to Kings of Leon, I’ll just walk through any shopping mall in the world, where it’s air-conditioned and I can leave without being buried in debt.

I went one year.
I thought I was going to melt. NIN & Bauhaus were the two big reasons I went. I’m glad I went but man, it was hot and horrible and I’m never sleeping in a tent in the desert again.
No one the headliners are really anything to get me out of bed, but there’s enough small print bands that I like on there. If my press application gets approved, I’ll totes go : )
Hey, if you can go for free, that’s a whole ‘nother kettle of fish! I’d see Scissor Sisters and Gogol Bordello for sure, but most of that lineup just does nothing for me.
There are a lot of smaller bands on there that I would love to see: Flogging Molly, Cage the Elephant, Scissor Sisters, Golgol Brodello, Mumford and Sons… It still isn’t worth 110+ degrees.
