Back in 1988, my mom had the kindness to tape the “Pee-wee’s Playhouse Christmas Special” for me. Thank Zeus she did, because when I told others of its existence, people scoffed and thought I was crazy. WEIRDO!!!
Pee-wee is trying to compile his Christmas Wish-List for Santa whilst preparing for the holiday. Special guests pop in (basically anyone who was a hot item in the late 80′s, along with some classics for the parents to enjoy from their generation), dropping off the ever-treasured Christmas gift: FRUITCAKE!
Honestly, the whole special is pretty surreal. I mean, you’ve got Grace Jones coming out of a crate, singing “Little Drummer Boy:”
And you’ve got Cher stopping by to see what the secret word is:
Never saw it? Don’t fret: for a short time, Pee-wee’s showing the entire Christmas special on his website! Catch it while you can.
