If you want to get into the Halloween spirit but can’t figure out what to watch, read, or listen to, this hour will provide you with more suggestions than you’ll know what to do with.
This Week In Stuff:
Paul:
How the States Got Their Shapes
The Raven (1963) – “Dueling Magicians”
The Creature Walks Among Us (1956) – third in the “Creature From The Black Lagoon” series
Psycho Blu-Ray
Spike:
Who Got Benny’s Millions?
Groucho Marx’s You Bet Your Life and Tales of Tomorrow (feat. Lon Chaney, Jr.’s Frankenstein) courtesy of Archive.org
During this segment, we discover Spike’s kryptonite: the dreaded Burt Reynolds laugh!
Law & Order: UK, because there just aren’t enough versions already. Not a lot of gray area: people either like it or hate it.
This week’s question asked you what your favorite Halloween-themed media is. Hear your answers… now!
Incidentally, I’ll be happy to back down regarding my stance on Dracula and Frankenstein when and if I ever get a good reason to. I’ve also written term papers on the topic and spent a year studying Dracula in all its forms in-depth. If you can tell me what’s so great about the book itself, not regarding it as inspiration for some good cinema, by all means, comment away! Ditto for Frankenstein.
