[Trailer] Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark (2011)

One of the buzzed about happenings at San Diego Comic Con this year was the panel for the Guillermo del Toro produced and co-written re-make, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark. After screening this trailer at SDCC, the former The Hobbit director quipped that he messed his pants.

I’m not sure I get that reaction, but it does look pretty creepy and I will always celebrate R-Rated horror.

The film stars Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, and Bailee Madison.

Plot:

“Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” centers on a young girl, sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend, who discovers sinister creatures that live underneath the stairs.

Madison will play the girl, who discovers the creatures and is fascinated by them — until they prove dangerous. Pearce will play the father, an author frustrated by his daughter’s tales of monsters, not believing her even when his girlfriend (Holmes) backs her.

Screaming to a screen near you January 11, 2011.
