The new-look Starfleet tunic debuted in Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan and became an iconic part of Star Trek memorabilia. Now the very tunic worn by William Shatner in The Wrath of Khan will be going on sale July 17 according to mirror.co.uk:
It was first worn by Shatner’s character James T Kirk in the 1982 film The Wrath of Khan…
It will go on sale on July 17 at Beverly Hills auction house Heritage along with other Star Trek items.
Doug Norwine, of Heritage, said: “There can’t be many better pieces in the realm of Star Trek collecting than this one.”
I’m not sure if the £13,000 price ($19,467 U.S.) is the estimated bid price or the reserve bid price. If it’s the latter, the price could go considerable higher.
