Americans have reason to be concerned about their privacy due to the questionable nature of the Patriot Act and FISA which gives government agencies the “right” to record, filter, collect, categorize, and share data ranging from cell phones calls and library records to data usage and social media information – with little oversight. Therefore Eagle Eye can only be explained as a propaganda piece of disinformation whose aim is to put the American mind at ease; there could be nothing to fear from the asininity cobbled together in this barely comprehensible plot. It has to do with the government and its ability to eavesdrop on people through turned off cellphones and ipods; like Batman’s invention in The Dark Knight but increase the already ridiculous absurdity level by about eighteen trillion.
Eagle Eye stars Shia LaBeouf as twins; one clean shaved, one with pubic hair on his face. One is dead, the other alive. The alive one gets forced into a game by an anonymous voice that can control loading cranes and subway cars and electric dog collars. At a crucial turning point the voice makes a power line detach and fall down to electrocute a man that was going against its wishes. This lets Indy Jr. know that this bitch means business.
Later Indy Jr. finds out that the voice is a government supercomputer that disagreed with a decision by the President to bomb a Middle East village and decided the only way to help America is to kill the President and the first twelve people in line of succession. I know, right?
Clean shaved and pubic-face Indy Jr. both get The Medal of Honor at the end of the movie and their father realizes that pubic-face Indy Jr. is an OK dude.
Similar and much better movies: Colossus: The Forbin Project, War Games.
