Apatow Judd movies are not all about the raunch - not sure how you come to that idea. His best directorial piece, Knocked Up, has a few raunchy scenes, but its theme of a Peter Pan type eventually having to grow older and accept responsibility for his decisions is a good theme, and it was the sparse movie that most male and female could enjoy together, it isn't a chick-flick nor guy-flick. Much of his other film treads similar ground. I love raunch, and I would have liked if there were more of it out there - the world needs more teenage sex comedies in these depressing times

For some reason your comment was captured in the spam filter. Sorry about that.

I think my only mention of Apatow is from my entry about The Hangover. In that entry I wrote:

The humor is above the toilet variety, but more sight-induced than something from Apatow.

The inference there is (or was supposed to be) "...but more sight-induced than something from Apatow (where Apatow's movies are also above the toilet variety but are more dialog and situational driven whereas The Hangover has more sight gags).

Earlier in the countdown I was loving on Funny People, so I hardly think Apatow movies are filth. Which makes sense since, you know, I never said it.

Apatow movies are not all about the filth - not sure how you come to that hypothesis. His greatest directorial piece, Knocked Up, has a a couple trashy moments, but its theme of a Peter Pan type finally having to grow older and accept responsibility for his decisions is a good theme, and it was the sparse film that most women and men could like together, it's not a chick-flick nor guy-flick. A lot of his other work treads similar ground.
I loved Star Trek! My nephew and I have been huge fans since we were teens. Watching the characters developing their friendship was great!. The decision of young actors was excellent

I loved all of the movies in this entry. Any of the top 5 could have been number 1. I didn't think the acting in D9 was as impressive as the other 4, so it is at 5, but it is still one hell of a good movie.

Moon is one of my favorite movies ever, though, regardless of year released. So is Black Dynamite. That is teh strength that put those at 1 and 2.

Can't argue with Moon as a top choice. I savored it as I watched it, knowing that I was having one of those rare filmgoing experiences in which I could sense it was a personal classic as I watched it. I had a similar experience later in the year with District 9 - having that happen twice in one year is probably a new one for me (District 9 was my top pick of the 2009 movies I saw, which number far fewer than your list).
