The one nearly saving grace of the tepid Paranormal Activity was the acting of star Katie Featherston as Katie, the camera shy nagger who spent 2/3 of the movie bitching about the ubiquitous presence of day-trader boyfriend Micah’s video camera. I think the rest of the movie had to do with a Monkey Rodeo or maybe a ghost or something, but primarily the movie was about the camera and how much Katie hated it always being pointed at her and Micah’s constant begging to make a sex tape.
According to DigitalSpy.com, Katie has recently auditioned with director Danny Boyle (Sunshine, Slumdog Millionaire) for an undisclosed project.
My question is: Does Boyle know about Katie’s hatred of cameras? It seems like that could be a big issue since to film a real movie she will be in front of one doing take after take after take for 12-18 hours a day. It seems like her volatile opinion of being in frame would not be a good mix with, you know, being in a real film.
And hey, Danny, the last person to stick a camera in Katie face for a long period of time ended up being tossed at the camera like a softball and presumably eaten by a demon. So heads up, yo.
Do you think Katie Featherston’s performance in Paranormal Activity was good enough to warrant a major film breakthrough?
