While I was ranting and raving this morning with regard to the BAFTA nominations, I stumbled upon a behind the scenes feature on the BAFTA website promoting series two of Merlin.
Young Merlin fans flocked to our London Children’s Film Festival event at the Barbican on 21 November 2009 for an afternoon dedicated to the show’s behind-the-scenes magic.
The fascinated crowd learnt about many different aspects of the production process, enjoying live demonstrations from composer Rohan Stevenson, stuntman Andreas Petrides and prosthetic artist Tina Moore. Special Effects artists Jean Claude Deguara and Will Cohen, plus director Jeremy Webb and exec producer Julian Murphy, were also on hand to enlighten the audience on their involvement in the hit show.
Fans were also treated to cast members Colin Morgan (Merlin), Bradley James (Arthur) and Katie McGrath (Morgana) discussing their experience of bringing legendary characters to life, followed by a meet and greet session with the actors.
This is really a fun show and I urge US audiences to order the series one DVD from amazon.uk. Series two becomes available on DVD February 8, 2010.
