For what it’s worth here is a 2:00 behind the scenes look at the new A Nightmare on Elm Street movie. This thing is certainly on my radar for anticipated movies this year, but nothing I’ve seen thus far indicates substantial cleverness or innovation with the material. The original Elm Street was done about as well as the concept can be done. If this re-boot is going to just copy that formula then it is not going to be a successful film — at least not for fans of the original movie.

My understanding is that it will go more into Freddy’s background. I don’t know. I’m skeptical. I’m tired of horror movie remakes, and I haven’t even seen any of the recent ones. I do think that Jackie Earle Haley was a great pick to play Freddy, though.
Yah, JEH was the best choice out there. Most of the horror re-makes have not been good. Rob Zombie is still a few films away from putting it all together and the F13 re-make was just tepid.
