I’m extremely excited by Solomon Kane. It’s another one of the long line of films this year struggling to find distribution as a lower budget genre film with no bankable actors.
Plot Summary: The first part in a trilogy series, “Solomon Kane” is an epic adventure adapted from the classic pulp stories by Robert E. Howard, creator of “Conan the Barbarian.” Solomon Kane (James Purefoy) is a 16th Century soldier who learns that his brutal and cruel actions have damned him. Determined to redeem himself, Kane swears to live a life of peace and goodness but is forced to fight once more when a dark power threatens the land. -ComingSoon.net
Previously PopBunker.net has reviewed The Tournament, Killing Room, House of the Devil, Bone and Blood, Trick r Treat, and Black Dynamite as some of this years struggling niche films that ended up going the festival to direct-DVD route or OnDemand route. The vast majority of these movies are at least on par if not better than a great share of theatrical releases this year. It’s a funny business.
Below is the newest clip release in attempt to generate buzz for “Solomon Kane.” It’s titled, Hall of Mirrors.
