I knew that John Brown was a different kind of author when I received a tweet from him out of the blue one day asking me if I would like a copy of his then upcoming fantasy debut, Servant of a Dark God (REVIEW). He had read some other reviews on the site and knew a fantasy fan when he saw one. Sure enough he shipped me out a copy of the book. The book ended up being aces and I spent some time helping him promote it as much as I and Pop Bunker at the time could.
Well, Brown is back and now he is offering the first twelve chapters of his follow-up to Servant of a Dark God in draft form to a “test audience.” Man, this is a great idea and this is most certainly a guy that cares about smart fantasy fiction and about his fans.
From his site:
If you would like to be part of a test audience, please open the document and begin reading just as you would any book that you picked up because it looked interesting. Stop where you normally would. Then email me by clicking on the Contact John link under my photo up on the left. I’ll send you a couple of questions. Again, don’t put any critique hat on. Just read as you normally would.
Here is a LINK to his blog post with directions on how to get to the draft to participate. Be sure to adhere to his instructions.
