The Giveaway

I ran across this strange old thing for the 1978 animated Lord of the Rings.  It’s a photonovel, and it makes a weird one at that.

It’s an abridged novelized version of a movie that was adapted from a novel to an animated feature presented as photos of the animated cells with comic book like dialog, thought, and scene bubbles.  I mean, the amount of meta-ized irony is enough to make this a collector’s item, right?

So in short, this photonovel, after all that, is ultimately a comic book adaptation of the “Lord of the Rings” 1978 animated feature.  But it is actually so much more.  If that makes sense.

Anyway, we are to be giving it away.
